Baystate Jeepers, Inc. is a family-oriented 4wd Jeep club formed to promote the sport of driving on primitive roads (trails) requiring high clearance four-wheel drive vehicles. Founded in 1998 and incorporated in 2000, we welcome ‘stock to modified’ Jeeps, with a minimum tire size requirement of 30″. All Jeeps must be insured. Because we welcome stock and modified Jeeps, we enjoy a widely diverse membership and schedule of activities. All BSJ members are welcome on all scheduled BSJ runs. At the discretion of the Director of Trails (or the trail leader), groups may be broken up into moderate and harder groups. We use a trail rating system from Green (easiest), Blue, Black, to Red (most difficult).

Our current schedule includes monthly (March thru November) Jeep runs. We also have runs that may incorporate camping trips, trail cleanups, Adopt a Highway cleanups, and other events. Baystate Jeepers are active in the Great American Jeep Rally, with some members on the GAJR Board of Directors, while other members volunteer their time at the GAJR. Baystate Jeepers publish a BSJ newsletter, “Tracks”. Tracks is published monthly, from April through November. BSJ publishes a club calendar that highlights members Jeeps, and is available for purchase every December. BSJ members are eligible to run for a position on the Board of Directors, and all BoD members serve a 1 year term.

Baystate Jeepers, Inc. is proud to be a member of the Northeast Association of 4WD Clubs. This Association is working to maintain positive relations with local landowners and various governmental agencies to insure open access to the land. On a national level, we are a member of the Blue Ribbon Coalition (Preserving our natural resources for the public, instead of from the public), and we subscribe to Tread Lightly principles, always leaving with more than we bring in.

Through out the year we participate in various activities such as canned food drives, charity fund raisers, and trail cleanups, including working with the State Forest Service. This helps to both keep trails open and to gain access to other trails. We practice tread-lightly principles, and always leave with more then we bring in.

As a member of Baystate Jeepers, Inc. we will keep you informed as to upcoming events and dates, trip ratings, directions, past trip reports, and more.
